Report on camping situation at MUMC
Folks have been moving from street into church property
Pastor Heather:
Church is set up to do Day services such as Meals on Wheels and Raab Sisters. Not set up for shelter.
Church does not condone camping on church property.
Police had said that they could not move campers because we had not signed up for trespass service but that program no longer exists.
Solution is Pastor Heather has to be willing to be the “victim” 24/7 and respond to police calls about camping on the grounds.
Church priority is creating a safe environment for the populations they serve and the neighborhood at large.
Should follow up with someone at PPB to create an ongoing relationship and solution.
Laura: What can Neighbors do?
