Montavilla Neighborhood Association Meeting

June 8, 2024

Board Members in Attendance: Kat Moss, Spencer Knowles, Scott Simpson, Sarah Hartzel, Kristina Perry, Laura Mulligan, Elisabeth Lister,

Quorum is present.

Meeting called to order at 6:40

Old business

• Street Fair

• movie night gift baskets

• Comms and Outreach Committee to consider what table at the street fair looks like

Committee Reports

GNA Committee - Spencer

• Spencer updates

• Questions about buffer zones

• Question about pull we have in agreement

Parks Committee - Louis

• Jade District has received a grant to show a movie at Berrydale Park

• Dragon dancers will dance lots of other crafts and events

• Kat motion to approve $150 dollars for movie

• Spencer seconded the motion. Passes.

Landuse and Safety - Scott

• Meeting on 6/25 at 6:00

• Jacob Update on Tax Increment Financing

• Tax freeze. 3%. 45% of money has to go to affordable housing. Only Sticks and Bricks projects.

• The first 5 years focused on stabilization. 

• Look at the Cully TIF model

• Jacob to present and hear feedback at the next Landuse meeting

• Portland has now streamlined ADU approval. Can now learn more on Portland.gov

Treasury Report

• Comms grant of $750 has been deposited

SEUL update

• Candidate mixer has been postponed. Will be at SEUL headquarters

• Budget year starts in July. Faced huge budget cut. District Coalitions got an extra $100000 to share. Their annual budget has now been approved

• Lost 3 neighborhoods to District 1. Adding some from NE

New Business

Kiwanis club of Montavilla

• Stark Street has a banquet room to host

• Anyone is welcome to attend. The next meeting is Tuesday at Noon.
