Montavilla Neighborhood Association Meeting
March 11, 2024
Board Members in Attendance: Spencer Knowles, Scott Simpson, Sarah Hartzel, Kristina Perry, Laura Mulligan, Elisabeth Lister

Meeting called to order at 6:30
PBOT 82nd Ave Presentation: Briana Orr on-site to talk about the new PBOT plan and open the floor for community feedback and questions.

Review of project map
Questions about minimal plans for Montavilla area.
This is just one stage. There will be additional changes along the entire stretch of 82nd, including complete repaving by 2030.
Questions/concerns about traffic diversions through neighborhoods
Something that has been extensively studied and considered, but if there are additional concerns please reach out.
Review of Davis/Vestal Intersection Project
Input is still wanted on this project as it is in draft form. The current design is a result of feedback from MNA and other groups, specifically the desire to make sure the food carts remain accessible and not put out of business.
Review of Glisan/80th Greenway Project
Project a result of advocacy from Vestal parents/community. Is crossing for Bus, Bike Bus, and lots of kids
Concerns about single lane and effect on traffic back ups.

New community meeting times announced by JOHS for March 20th & April 3rd @ 6:00 at the Montavilla United Methodist Church
Committee is in the research phase and in discussion with other NAs / BAs about their good neighbor agreements.

Communications Committee
Website project is underway with no concrete timeline
Focus is making it easier for people to sign up and get information about MNA
Interest in expanding the reach and use of social media account (FB, IG, etc.) and ramping up comms levels.
Interest in non-digital outreach as well (flyers, canvassing, etc.) for MNA membership as well as upcoming events for community feedback.

Treasurer's Report:
Checking: $2,552.18
Savings: $3,900.32
Note that the board should explore a fundraising committee and fundraising efforts in general to boost our coffers. Only current incoming funds are from a $750 communications grant from SE uplift
Styrofoam fundraiser in the past.
Open to any other ideas from the community.
Old Business:
Ratification of Feb minutes
Note that the board ratified in Feb Louise being taken off the signer's list for our checking account and Kat is being placed on the account. This was added to the minutes.
Updated Minutes are ratified.
Any update on the latest budget results for SE Uplift?
Budget is being cut from SE Uplift due to city wide 5% budget reduction, as well as an equalized redistribution based on new districts
