Montavilla Neighborhood Association January Meeting

The meeting was called to order at 6:31 p.m. 

Present:  Kat Moss, Spencer Knowles, Louis Hoff, Sarah Hartzel, J. Elisabeth Lister, Laura Mulligan, Kristina Perry

Agenda was adopted

Quorum is present.

  • Laura moves to approve minutes. 

  • Kat seconds motion

  • November Minutes Approved

Unfinished Business:

  • Hector: Mural on 82nd and Glisan is finished.

    • Has not yet received payment from the gas station.

    • Kat to follow up with hector / gas station

    • Has been approved by city and permitted

New Business:

  • GNA Committee Applications

    • Kat Moves to approve all submitted applications

      • no objections

    • Majority of work will be work sessions for the committee

    • Applicants to be notified that they are approved

    • Need to set up a channel of communication and time to schedule work sessions.

  • In Person Meeting Locations

    • Kat had meeting with East Precinct Commander and they are interested in building a better relationship.

    • East Precinct has offered their space for in-person meetings

      • Have AV options and parking. There is no charge.

    • Spencer to explore alternative options for meeting spaces

    • Community center at Montavilla Park Possibility

    • Montavilla Church on 80th.

    • Flying Pie Basement, Robot Room, Tabor Space.

  • Getting new signers for the MNA Bank Account

    • Kat Moss to Add Laura as a secondary signer

    • Spencer seconds motion and it is approved unanimously

  • Communications Update

    • Grant Application has been submitted to SE Uplift for $750

    • Further updates around comms and web to come.

  • Community Member has inquired what do about dumping at Berrydale park / Clark Elementary

    • They can report to 311

    • Question of whether it is city responsibility or school.

  • Sara Fischer: What was the status of getting the DA back

  • Willy Chotzen: Attended meeting to listen in on what is happening in Montavilla for House District 46.

  • Treasurers Report from Sarah Hartzel:

    • Checking: $2,405.30

    • Savings: $4,153.88

    • We also were charged a $7 maintenance fee, so I transferred around $250 from our savings to the checking account to keep us above $2,500 and avoid the fee.  Let me know if you have any questions.

    • Have discussed moving to a credit union but it has been difficult. can revisit in the future after signers are transferred.

  • Would anyone like to become a member?
